10 Reasons We Love Our Vitamix

Buying a Vitamix is Worth it for These 10 Reasons

Nicole and I were strolling through Costco a few years ago when we came across the Vitamix demonstration table. After hearing such great things about this revolutionary blender from friends and family, we decided to check it out. The demo was hosted by a dude with a headset speaking to the crowd like he was leading a ball toss game at a carnival. “Step right up and try this amazing mango-spinach-banana juice!” After trying the juice and watching his demonstration a little while longer, we decided we’d splurge for the Vitamix 6300.

Fast forward to today, my wife and I both agree that our Vitamix is one of the best purchases we ever made. After 3 years of ownership …

Here are the top 10 reasons we LOVE with our Vitamix:

1. We’re Eating New Foods

The Vitamix allows our whole family to easily and conveniently eat healthier. Foods we never ate regularly like avocado, spinach, kale, chia seeds and flax seeds have now become staples in our daily diets. Since we’re using whole foods like these in our smoothies, we’re eliminating unnecessary additives, dyes and chemicals from our diet.

2. Our Kids Are Eating Their Vegetables

This has been a great way to introduce our kids at a very young age to eating vegetables. We typically mix up a green smoothie that is mostly leafy greens and add some apples or bananas for flavor. Our kids act their having a flippin’ milk shake! They love it.

3. It’s a Fun Activity with the Kids

My kids love helping prepare the ingredients for our morning smoothies. Since my little ones are 5 and 2, it does get messy at times, but it is totally worth it. We’re learning how to eat healthy together and having fun as a family.

4. My Overall Health Has Improved

Since I’ve been using the Vitamix, my LDL cholesterol level has dropped from 132 to 95! Before that drop, my doctor was recommending I go on cholesterol medication. And I was only 31 years old! I’ve also been drinking a lot more water and exercising, but the Vitamix and the food that I’ve been putting in it have allowed me to give my body the nutrients it needs. Not only has my bad cholesterol decreased, but my energy level has increased significantly as well.

5. It Pulverizes the Smallest of Foods

We’ve been eating a lot of seeds and nuts lately because of our Vitamix. The blender is so powerful that it takes the smallest seeds and pulverizes them so they are integrated into the overall smoothie. You won’t get a chunky or gritty taste with the Vitamix.

6. Clean Up is Simple

When it comes to meal time in our family, we end up with lots of dishes, pots and pans to clean. When we’re making our green smoothies, clean up is a breeze. With a little soap and water and 60 seconds, we’re all set. We even blend up the soap and water for a super clean option sometimes. Our kids call it the “White Juice”. Don’t drink the white juice kids!

7. It Lasts

We’ve had our Vitamix for 3 years and it works just as good as the day we bought it. And this isn’t an appliance we stick in our drawer and use 4 times a year. We use this awesome blender at least 3-5 times per week.

8. It Has a 7-Year Warranty

We haven’t had to use this warranty, but it’s nice to know they have one that covers you for 7-years. According to their website, if the machine fails within a typical household environment, “Vita-Mix will, within 30 days of receipt of the returned product, repair the failed Machine or component part of the Machine free of charge.” Makes me feel good to know the warranty is there!

9. With the Right Recipes, Everything Tastes Great

We’ve gotten pretty skilled at making tasty smoothies. We’ve experimented with a lot of different fruits, vegetables and protein powders to get the perfect flavor. Here is one of our morning go-to recipes that tastes great and gives us energy for the day:

Green Machine

  • 1 Banana
  • 1/2 Avocado
  • 1/2 Cup Spinach
  • Scoop of Protein Powder (Vanilla or Chocolate)
  • 6 Ice Cubes
  • 1.5 Cups of Water
  • 1 Tablespoon for Greek Yogurt

10. It’s More than Smoothie Maker

This is a very versatile machine. With the different settings, we’ve made baby food, hot soups and even a tasty fruit sorbet. The Vitamix 6300 series can even make salad dressings, batters, dips and nut butters. Use your imagination and have some fun.

In short, the Vitamix was worth the investment. It has helped our whole family eat healthier and enjoy making food together.
