When you’re a new parent, there a lot of financial hurdles to jump over.
What are we going to do for childcare? How does this affect our income? Can we afford this new life of ours?
Today we speak with a new parent who’s recently had to answer a lot of these questions. Sarah Li-Cain is our guest today. She is a young mother, a wife and a full-time writer. By pursuing her passion and growing her income, Sarah has been able to make over $100,000 per year working 25 hours per week and still be able to spend quality time her with 3-year old son.
What are we covering?
Sarah Li Cain and I discuss:
- How she transitioned from full-time teacher to part-time writer and doubled her salary
- How she was able to save up two years of savings to make the transition
- Why becoming a writer is so important to her and her ability to raise her son
This episode demonstrates the importance of both parenthood and finding your entrepreneurial path through creativity. After all, we’re better parents when we’re happy parents.

#BigTipTuesday is here!
I’m creating a fun way for the Marriage, Kids and Money Community to Give Back this holiday season. I’m calling it “Big Tip Tuesday” …
I would love for our community to surprise 10 hard-working people in the service industry with $100. That would be $1,000 of joy spread to those who are working hard during the holidays. So, what do you think? Are you in?
Please email me and let me know. Giving is SO much fun. Think about the smile you’ll bring to someone’s face who is not expecting it. THANK YOU FOR CONSIDERING IT!
